The project EUCanScreen: Joint European Action for the implementation of the cancer screening program in the European Union will participate in the 5th Panhellenic Conference ¨Present and Future in Oncology¨.
The conference is organized by the Hellenic Society of Geriatric Oncology in collaboration with the Oncology Department of the Pathology Clinic of the University General Hospital of Patras, Society for the Study of Solid Neoplasms (ESYN) / Hellenic Collaborative Oncology Group (HeCOG), under the auspices of the Society of Oncologists of Greece / Patras Medical Association at Achaia Beach Hotel in Patras.
The presentation of the EUCanScreen project will be from the member of the scientific team of the 6th DYPEDE which implements it, Ioanna Velissari, Nurse, MPh, PhD, Medical School of the University of Patras, Nurse of the Oncology Department of the University General Hospital of Patras.
The Ministry of Health participates in the project for Greece with an interconnected entity, the 6th DYPEDE, which with the professor of the Department of Medicine of the University of Patras, Mr. Apostolos Vantarakis, as scientific responsible, has assumed the leadership of Work Package 2 for Dissemination, while actively participating in the implementation of all work packages.
The EUCanScreen project aims to ensure the sustainability of the implementation of high-quality breast cancer screening, cervical and colorectal cancer as well as the implementation of the recently recommended screening programme – for lung, prostate and stomach cancers, contributing to reducing cancer and achieving equality across the EU.
The general objective of EUCanScreen is to assure sustainable implementation of high-quality screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancers, as well as implementation of the recently recommended screening programs – for lung, prostate and gastric cancers. EUCanScreen will facilitate the reduction of cancer burden and achieving equity across the EU.
