The European Commission has officially launched a Call for Expression of Interest to join the Working Group of the European Commission Initiative on Lung Cancer (EC-LuC). This important initiative, led by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in collaboration with DG SANTE, aims to develop evidence-based guidelines for lung cancer prevention, screening, and diagnosis, alongside a quality assurance scheme covering the full care pathway.

The call is open to:
Clinical, scientific and technical experts in lung cancer screening, diagnosis, and care
Patients and/or caregivers to be appointed as members of the EC-LuC Working Group

The general objective of EUCanScreen is to assure sustainable implementation of high-quality screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancers, as well as implementation of the recently recommended screening programs – for lung, prostate and gastric cancers. EUCanScreen will facilitate the reduction of cancer burden and achieving equity across the EU.
