Football day on Friday 11/4/2025 for the participating schools in the Health4EUkids project. A day for which the students of the 13th Primary School of Patras and the 26th Primary School of Patras were particularly looking forward to and finally enjoyed every aspect of it. Wearing t-shirts with the project’s logo, they played and had fun with their hearts, while at the end their efforts were rewarded with the awarding of medals and a cup.

The action is part of the implementation of Work Package 5 (W.P. 5) “GRUNAU MOVES” of Health4EUkids. The aim is to strengthen children’s awareness of health and physical exercise for a comprehensive lifestyle approach.

It was organized at the Patras DIAS Football Academies and included a championship with fifteen teams from both schools (7 from the 13th and 8 from the 26th) with different colors on the shirts. The matches offered unique moments of sporting action to the children while the grandstand also experienced their own agony. A total of 34 matches of an adapted duration to the children’s age were held.

Professor Apostolos Vantarakis, Scientific Manager of the project refereed many matches.

Eleni Papachatzi, Pediatrician of the Pediatric Clinic of the Universital Hospital of Patras and Postdoctoral Researcher of the Laboratory of Hygiene Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Patras, was on hand for our little friends.

Finally, the presence and contribution of the volunteers and staff of the 6th Health ADM involved in the project was valuable in the implementation of the action.
