Nutrition Day by the 6th Health ADM in collaboration with the University of Patras at the 29th and 32nd Primary Schools of Patras within the framework of the European project Health4EUkids

Within the framework of the European project Health4EUKids and the implementation of Work Package 5 (W.P. 5) “GRUNAU MOVES”, students of 4th, 5th 6th grades of the 29th Primary School of Patras and the 32nd Primary School of Patras were informed about the importance of nutrition in their lives.

Students played a relay race / question game “truth or myth” about beverages, breakfast, honey, snacks, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, as well as questions for older children about hidden sources of sugar and salt.

The action was created and coordinated by:

  • – Dr. Emmanuela Magriplis, Associate Professor of Nutritional Epidemiology & Public Health at the Laboratory of Dietetics and Quality of Life of the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition of the School of Food Sciences and Nutrition of the Agricultural University of Athens, Visiting Professor of the Department of Medicine at the Laboratory of Public Health of the University of Patras.
  • – Dr. Eleni Papachatzi, Pediatrician of the Pediatric Clinic of the Universital General Hospital of Patras and Postdoctoral Researcher of the Laboratory of Hygiene Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Patras.

Health4EUKids -Your kid's health our priority!The “HEALTH4EUkids” Joint Action aims to implement health promotion and prevention strategies for child obesity across European countries. It seeks to share best practices and research findings, particularly focusing on the initiatives Grunau Moves from Germany and Smart Family from Finland. The project involves knowledge transfer, cooperation between member states, policy development, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles in families and communities. Its goal is to prevent childhood obesity, increase physical activity and healthy diet, and ensure the sustainability and transferability of successful practices to other member states.
