“I eat right, I move a lot, I live better!” within the framework of the European project Health4EUkids

A day of joy and fun for young and adults, the action on Sunday 4.5.2025 at the South Park of Patras within the framework of the European project Health4EUkids.

 

The program included:

  • – Pillar A with Speeches-Discussion with greetings from the manager of the 6th Health ADM, Ilias Theodoropoulos, and representatives of the University of Patras, the Region of Western Greece, the Municipality of Patras, EFET, the Pediatric Association as well as speeches by A. Vantarakis, Professor of Hygiene, Department of Medicine, University of Patras, “What is the European Health4EUKids Project”, Dr. El. Papachatzi, Pediatrician, Universital General Hospital of Patras “Childhood obesity from the pediatrician’s perspective, a long road”, V. Koutsokosta, Nutritionist, M.Ph, Department of Nutrition, Universital General Hospital of Patras “Healthy Nutrition and childhood obesity: The decalogue of healthy nutrition in children”, S. Giannelou, Midwife, Agios Andreas General Hospital, “Information on breastfeeding”, K. Savrami, Associate Professor, Department of Theatre Studies, University of Patras “Movement: Creation – Well-being – Communication”, E. Gintoni, Clinical Psychologist, Universital General Hospital of Patras “Technology and childhood obesity” followed by an open discussion.
  • – Pillar B. Movement-Game with dance from the Dansarte dance school and games from TEFAA graduates S. Moraiti, N. Pagoni, D. Sklavou.
  • – Pillar C. Nutrition point with instructions for healthy eating and snacks by Nutritionists V. Koutsokosta, E. Stathakaro, A. Panagiota of the Universital General Hospital of Patras and Cooking in a healthy and practical way by the Universital General Hospital of Patras cooks, S. Papachristou and A. Sarambela as well as Information on breastfeeding, by S. Giannelou.
  • – Pillar D. Meal with street food suggestions.

The event closed with a song about healthy eating prepared by the students of the 32nd Primary School of Patras who are participating in the program.

 

Finally, a big thank you to the Red Cross and the volunteers for their support.

Health4EUKids -Your kid's health our priority!The “HEALTH4EUkids” Joint Action aims to implement health promotion and prevention strategies for child obesity across European countries. It seeks to share best practices and research findings, particularly focusing on the initiatives Grunau Moves from Germany and Smart Family from Finland. The project involves knowledge transfer, cooperation between member states, policy development, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles in families and communities. Its goal is to prevent childhood obesity, increase physical activity and healthy diet, and ensure the sustainability and transferability of successful practices to other member states.
